THE BUSINESS:

A business transfer agency is similar to estate agency, but much more interesting since we specialise in the sale of businesses as going concerns.

This business is a license for Horizon Business Agents who are the only and first business agents in the whole of the country to offer virtual tours and 60 second video pitches as part of the service to the vendor.

For this opportunity you will be engaged in valuing businesses and obtaining instruction to sell businesses in your licensed area. Writing the sales details, preparing the virtual tour/pitches and arranging advertising for your clients.

Opportunities are found via networking, building business relationships and direct marketing. After instruction you will concentrate on customer relationship management with your vendor.

AGENTS COMMENTS:

There are no specific requirements in terms of formal education, qualifications or work experience. More importantly are personal qualities: integrity, determination and self-discipline and if you can add to these: communication, organisational and numerate skills then this opportunity could be perfect for you.

We need sound individuals with a professional outlook, age is no bar, and indeed the more mature the person the more successful they may become. A previous career within a business field with experience of client relations would be a distinct advantage.

Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

FINANCE:

Income in year 2/3 may total c. £40,000 based upon a commission split, valuation fees and engagement fees obtained.

It is recommended that you have working capital equivalent to at least 12 months business expenses and living expenses; ideally you should budget for a year of personal and business expenditure. You will be required to document that these funds are available to you before you will be offered a license for the area.

The horizon licensee pays an ongoing membership and support fees of £375 per calendar quarter per defined area. This will be paid in advance on signing the agreement.

A deposit of £2,500 will be held for the first 2 years of your license, this will be released after the initial period has elapsed.

EQUIPMENT:

In addition you will also require a reliable car, reasonably modern computer, a good digital camera and virtual tour equipment and a video camera. Virtual Tour equipment, camera and video camera can be purchased for approx. £1,300.

TRADING HOURS:

Times to suit you and the potential client.

STAFF:

Can be run by the licensee, however you may decide to employ canvassers to leaflet on your behalf.
